Summer School

I had the opportunity to teach summer school in Morro Bay for 5 weeks this summer. It was a wonderful experience and great learning curve for someday when I hopefully have my own class for an entire year. They surprised me the week before it started and told me it was no longer just 2nd and 3rd graders, but also 1st graders. It was a bit a challenge the first couple weeks, but in the end I think it turned out pretty good! My class started at 24 kids and with a few dropping and absences at the end. Oh and, I may have had some jelly beans laying around (about 4,000 of them) and so on the last day I gave them each a little cupful and had them make a bar graph by colors. Then they got to eat them, which was obviously their favorite part!
